Silent Auction Rules

§  A bid is entered by printing your name, bidder number, phone number and the amount of your bid on the bid sheet in front of the corresponding item. Bids below minimum bid will not be accepted.

§  Bids should be in whole dollars and must equal or exceed the minimum bid stated on the bid sheet. Succeeding bids must exceed the previous bid by the minimum increment stated on the bid sheet.

§  The highest bidder at the close of the silent auction will be the winner of the item.

§  The Silent Auction will close at 8:00 p.m.  Bidders do not need to be present at this time in order to win.  If not present, winners will be contacted within two to three business days to arrange payment.  Once payment is received, items will be mailed to winners.

§  All Silent Auction items are available for “sale” for the Guaranteed Purchase Price listed at the bottom of the bidding sheets.  A "PAID" receipt from the checkout table will be issued to the purchaser when items have been paid in full, at which time the items will be given to the purchaser.

§  Payment must be made before items will be released. Payment must be made by cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, or American Express. Checks must be made out to "The U.S. Fund for UNICEF".

§  All sales are final and there will be no exchange or refund on items. All items and services are donated and are being sold "as is". The MA Artist’s Charity Art Show/Silent Auction and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF make no warranties or representations whatsoever in respect to such items and services.  The MA Artist’s Charity Art Show/Silent Auction and The U.S. Fund for UNICEF are not responsible for changes made by donor.

§  MA Artist’s Charity Art Show/Silent Auction and the U.S. Fund for UNICEF are not responsible for lost or expired certificates.

§  Resale of auction items is not permitted. Certificates are not transferable. In the event of any dispute, the auction chair shall have the sole discretion to determine the successful bidder.

§  Reservations for trips, bed & breakfast stays, use of facilities, and similar items must be mutually arranged with the donor unless otherwise specified. Blackout periods may apply. Restrictions do apply on several auction items. Gift certificates should be thoroughly scrutinized. The utmost care has been taken to note restrictions as accurately as possible on the bidding sheets. However, the MA Artist’s Charity Art Show/Silent Auction and The U.S. Fund for UNICEF are not responsible for any restrictions inadvertently omitted or not originally indicated by a donor.

*Please note the U.S. Fund for UNICEF is not able to give receipts for donations to individuals, businesses, or organizations that donate gifts either "in kind" or auction items for our UNICEF fundraiser. Because the donation of the item is being made to a volunteer-led fundraiser, and is not being made directly to the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, items are not being donated to a non-profit organization, and therefore are not eligible for a tax deduction.
